Bullet Journal | I'm so glad I live in a world where there are octobers!

I gave a lot of thought to what would be the theme of this month's bullet journal spread... August and September were so hectic I barely had time to work on the journal at all, but October put those troubled and tiresome times to sleep and brought an uncontrollable yearn for writing with it. I knew I had to do something... Besides, it ties with December for my favourite month in the year.

Chosing the theme also took a while... There were so many options. I could do Halloween inspired drawings or something more specific, like Jack and Sally from "The Nightmare before Christmas". I could even try a submarine theme inspired by the "Hunt for the Red October" (that would have been original)... But then I remember a line Anne says in Anne with an E (I believe the line is in the book also, but since I haven't read that yet, I have to quote the adaptation):

"I am so glad to live in a world where there are Octobers"

That was all the inspiration I needed... I had to do an October spread inspired by the colors and flavours of autumn...

You can still see the corner of the Sims 3 logo in my last August/September page - I really got back to gaming lately, and the Sims 3 is an undisputed favourite... The october drawings are crude, as my drawings often are, but I kinda like them. Specially the bear :)

I loved this stripped letters for the monthly spread. A tiny callendar and this type of habit tracker (at the bottom of the page) are both things that have worked for my in the past. I also added a health tracker (to try and make going to the gym a priority this month) and a graph to chart writing days - another priority).

I always add a supplementary coloured page that oppens like the jacket of a book... I haven't decided exactly what I am going to do with it, but it was nice using the post-it with the cute little fox... Reminded me of the time during the second season of Anne with an E when Anne thought she had a fox in the forest...

I have done bullet journal for a while, but never with much consistency, which I guess explains why my set ups are still so crude - there are so many artful and elaborate journals online, it's almost embarassing... In addition to the drawings - and a couple of autumn themed stickers, I used two types of tapes, the blue one with cherry tree flowers and the brown with a Scotish pattern.

I write a lot on my bullet journal... Sort of like a proper old fashioned journal at times, and that's why I only did the weekly spread for the first week so far... I will probably use a few pages for writing before I need a spread for planning the second week.

And yes, I realize it's not even autumn here. It's spring. But the truth is that it doesn't really feel like spring. In the south we never really feel the passage of the seasons... It is a matter of great sorrow I think... Detaches us from being in touch with the cycles of nature... During the first two days of october it was so cold is seemed like it was actually winter... Today the heat is so great all anyone can think about is spending time at the pool... But it doesn't matter... It's autumn in the North, where the seasons really make themselves noticed, and the North is where my thoughts are anyway...

  1. I like the bear and the pumpkins!

You could write about your favourite horror movies or horror books, because it is Halloween season!
